TAS Faculty

"A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." Antoine de Saint-Exupéry,

It has been a busy and exciting time in the TAS Faculty this term, with students developing practical skills, building confidence and putting their classroom learning into action.

Our Year 7 Technology Agriculture students have been developing their food preparation skills, with a particular focus on knife safety and cutting techniques. Students have been practicing a range of cutting skills and learning how to safely and effectively use kitchen equipment. They recently put their new skills into practice by completing their first practical task – preparing a delicious fresh fruit salad. It has been fantastic to see students developing their confidence and independence in the kitchen.

Food Technology students have also been busy upskilling their catering skills, developing their ability to prepare, present and serve food for larger events. Students have been practicing their skills by preparing delicious egg and bacon sandwiches, as well as putting these skills into action by creating a range of impressive platters for the Education Awards and the CAPA/TAS Showcase. Their attention to presentation, teamwork and food preparation was outstanding, and they should be very proud of the professional standard they achieved.

The TAS Faculty continues to provide students with opportunities to develop practical skills, creativity and teamwork skills that prepare them for future learning, employment and life beyond school. We look forward to sharing more of the fantastic work happening across TAS throughout the year!
