Year 2 News

We have made it through another term! We have all worked so hard and are incredibly proud of our achievements. It has been wonderful to see the growth, learning, and effort shown by everyone throughout the term.
We began the week with an AMAZING Italian Day! The day started with a fantastic parade, where everyone showed off their very cool costumes. We were entertained by The Great Armando the magician, whose tricks amazed and delighted us all. Throughout the day, we enjoyed a variety of fun Italian-themed activities and finished by sharing a delicious Italian lunch together. It was a wonderful day filled with laughter, learning and lots of excitement!
As People of Faith we have been learning about the Eucharist and exploring the stories and symbols associated with it. We have made connections between important Gospel stories, including The Last Supper, The Road to Emmaus, and Jesus Feeds the 5,000, and have discussed how these stories help us understand the meaning and significance of the Eucharist.
As Mathematicians, we have been continuing our learning about measurement, with a focus on capacity this week. We used different containers and informal units to estimate, measure, compare and calculate capacity. Through hands-on investigations, we explored how different containers hold varying amounts and practised making and checking our estimates.
As Writers, we have been continuing our learning about persuasive writing, with a focus on publishing our final pieces. Throughout this unit, we have explored how to state our opinions clearly and support them with strong reasons and examples. We have also been comparing our initial persuasive writing with our published pieces to reflect on our growth and recognise how much we have improved as writers. We are excited to share our work and celebrate our learning with families during Student-Led Conversations next week.
Year 2NA proudly presented their class assembly and did a fantastic job. The students spoke with confidence, shared their learning beautifully, and sang amazingly, filling the room with joy and enthusiasm. They should be very proud of their efforts. Well done, 2NA!
Thank you for all your support throughout this term. We hope you have a wonderful and restful break and enjoy some special time with your families. We look forward to seeing you all again in Term 3!
