Biz -E -Kidz Update

From Libby Hanna, Biz-E-Kidz Coordinator

Summer Holidays at Biz-E-Kidz!

Hello families!

School has just started back but at Biz-E-Kidz we started our year back on Monday the 5th of Jan! We had a beautiful Summer Holiday Program, some highlights being:

  • an epic game of Kidz v. Educators soccer and limbo, among others, on our ‘Biz-E-Lympics: Kidz v. Educators’ Day,
  • opening up the stage between our room and the gym at Errol St for ‘Performances On The Stage’!
  • a new incursion in which children creatively and often hilariously made their own stop-motion animations,
  • another new incursion in which children learnt about Chinese Lion Dancing,
  • and an incursion with Tully from the Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung Aboriginal Heritage Corporation to learn about indigenous archaeology! This is our third visit from Tully and we are very happy for our Biz-E-Kidz to have access to such important local knowledge about the land North Melbourne is on.

And now that term has started, we are so excited to be meeting all our fabulous new Prep families and families new to the school. Welcome to our unique not-for-profit, community-owned outside school hours care service that is officially in its 49th year!

Another important announcement is that we have launched a new menu! We have wanted to do this for years and have had overwhelmingly positive feedback from the children. The breakfast menu is staying the same, but the after school care and Holiday Program menu now includes fresh rice dishes, tofu, potato dishes, bean-based dishes and occasional nachos, along with tonnes of fresh fruit from the market as usual and the crowd favourite, rice crackers. We are still fine tuning recipes so please let us know if you have any suggestions or feedback!

Here is our feedback form if you would like to do so anonymously:
