It has been a lovely start to the school year welcoming students and families back to the art space. During our first week students have reacquainted themselves with the artroom, learning how the space works and revisiting routine and expectations.

To share our holiday experience through art making, we looked at Ken Done’s iconic Sydney postcards. Students created their own artworks, capturing a moment from their holidays- whether it was a big adventure or a small “slice of life” from their break. Like Ken Done we discussed using simple shapes and expressing a feeling or essence of a place or memory. 

These postcard artworks are currently displayed outside the artroom and families are warmly invited to stop by to take a closer look.
