From the Principal Team

As Term 3 draws to a close, I would like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank the entire Viewbank College community for the incredibly warm welcome and support I have received throughout the term.
I have greatly enjoyed my time at Viewbank and feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to become part of the College community, even for a relatively short time.
From my first days here, I have been struck by the dedication, professionalism and talent of the staff, led by an extraordinary leadership team who are deeply committed to the students and the ongoing success of the College.
Most of all, the students have been an absolute delight. I have had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with so many of them over the term, and I have been continually impressed by their friendliness, enthusiasm, talents and willingness to get involved in College life.
And Viewbank certainly is a busy place! During the term, I have been fortunate to see just how many wonderful opportunities are available to our students. I thoroughly enjoyed the incredibly professional production of Heathers: The Musical, celebrated Book Week and its many activities and watched students take to the stage for Battle of the Bands. Students proudly showcase their learning at the Languages Showcase, took part in wonderful musical performances, sporting events, trade tasters, Hero's Journey, Alumni visits and so many other activities that demonstrate the breadth and richness of life at Viewbank.
Frankie and Ash have also thoroughly enjoyed their time at Viewbank. They have certainly appreciated the attention, pats and new friends they have made along the way, and I suspect they will miss the Viewbank community just as much as I will!
As I return to St Helena Secondary College, I do so with enormous respect for Viewbank and its community. I am sure that the relationship between St Helena and Viewbank will continue to grow, with both schools finding opportunities to collaborate, share ideas and learn from one another.
Viewbank is also in excellent hands with the appointment of Ian Van Schie as the College’s new Principal. I wish Ian, the leadership team, staff, students and families every success as the College begins this next chapter.
Thank you again for making me feel so welcome and for allowing me to share in the life of Viewbank College during Term 3. It has been a genuine privilege.
Goodbye for now – although, given the connections between our two schools, I hope it is more of a “see you soon” than a farewell.
🎉 A Warm Welcome to Our New Principal! 🎉
Viewbank College would like to extend a very warm welcome to our new Principal, Mr Ian Van Schie!
Ian will hit the ground running in Term 4, bringing great enthusiasm and excitement as he begins his journey with our wonderful Viewbank College community.
