Mock Trials Round 3

On Monday, June 23,  our teams competed in the last round of the Mock Trial competition. It was a difficult case based on a complaint of unfair dismissal where our two teams represented both the applicant and respondent.

The boys spent considerable time attempting to understand the intricacies of the Fair Work Act and had to use the precedent of TWU v Qantas Airways to deliver their cases representing either the applicant or respondent. The understanding of both, were supported magnificently with expert legal advice from Mrs Tonon.

Mazenod 1 went up against a slick Guildford Grammar team and were narrowly defeated. Mazenod 2 were clear winners against Fremantle College. Both teams achieved 2 wins and 1 loss over the season meaning they did not progress to the final round.
