Reflect on the scripture verse from Mark and the quote from St Eugene. How do these relate to our mission of service to others as a member of the Mazenod College community?

Prayer

Lord, through the intercessions of Saint Eugene de Mazenod, make us missionaries, especially to the poor and abandoned. Give us the same love Saint Eugene had, so we may see the poor and abandoned through the eyes of Jesus our Savior. Help us accompany them to the resurrection.

We ask this through Christ the Lord.

Thank You for Your Wonderful Support of Our Winter Appeal!

Tonight, thousands of Western Australians, including children, will face the freezing cold without a safe place to sleep or a warm meal. This week, as part of our De Mazenod Vinnies Winter Appeal, we delivered food to The Shopfront in Bentley and St Patrick’s Community Centre in Fremantle, to help them fight hunger and poverty in our community. None of this would be possible without the support of the generous families from Mazenod College and St Brigid’s College as well as the dedicated work of our Vinnies students. We give thanks to God for the success of our food collection. The next part of our Winter Appeal is the Winter Sleepout which is being held on August 28th at Mazenod College.

Melanie Watkins from St Pat’s Community Centre wrote a letter of thanks for our students. In her letter she said “Your contribution will assist us in our efforts to help as many people as possible seeking support, so thank you for being a part of the St Pat’s Community and taking action to help individuals in need.”

A big heartfelt thank you to all our families who gave to the Can Drive. Without your wonderful generosity, the work of the De Mazenod Vinnies would not be possible.
