Principal

Welcome to our Term 3, Week 5 Newsletter.
This term is a very busy and intense term at Epping Boys High School, especially for our Senior Students with exam blocks for both Year 11 and Year 12, as well as major works due for all HSC courses with practical components. I have been impressed by the strong collaboration and genuine partnership between our Year 12 students and their teachers as they complete major works.
Leadership Lunch
We have a number of diverse leadership opportunities for students at our school:
- Prefects
- Student Representative Council
- Mentors
- Creative and Performing Arts Captains
- Sport Captains
- Student Wellbeing Action Team
- Student Network Café Leader
Last week, we hosted our very first Leadership Lunch where we invited some community leaders in to talk to our students leaders - from education, police, politics, business and sport – about their leadership and what defined their journey and their choices as leaders. It was pretty clear that despite their different backgrounds, they had clear values about service to others. When the students asked our community leaders questions, it was evident they had put thought into these questions, interrogating their decisions and unpacking challenges they had faced.
The second part of our Leadership Lunch was our student leadership groups working together to share calendars, share ideas and brainstorm how they can be stronger when they work together. It is wonderful to see our student leaders embracing such a strong values driven discourse.
