AMY SHARK SURPRISES CRAIGIEBURN SECONDARY COLLEGE!

On Tuesday, the 1st of August, Craigieburn Secondary College had the pleasure of hosting a special school talent show featuring Fifi, Fev, and Nick from FOX FM. The event showcased the incredible talents of our students, leaving a lasting impression on everyone present.

The FOX FM panel was treated to three outstanding performances. First up was our Year 12 duo, Mackenzie and Em, who delivered a powerful rendition of "Rolling in the Deep" by Adele. Following this, Charlotte and Tyler, a Year 11 and 12 duo, captivated the audience with their performance of "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals.

The final performance of the day was a thrilling surprise. A student, seemingly in Year 11 and dressed in our school uniform, took the stage—only to reveal herself as none other than acclaimed artist Amy Shark! Amy treated the students to a preview of three new songs from her upcoming album, ‘Sunday Sadness.’ The gym was filled with excitement and joy as the students realized who they were watching.

Each of our four talented performers was awarded a ticket to see Amy Shark on tour. It was an unforgettable experience, and the students were thrilled that someone as incredible as Amy Shark chose Craigieburn Secondary College for such a special performance.

On the following Friday, Emily Chapman, our Engagement Leader, and Mackenzie Imlach, one of our performers, were interviewed live on the Sunrise show, where they shared their amazing experience from the talent show. Their interview highlighted the impact of the event and how it resonated with both the performers and the audience. On behalf of the school, our school leaders presented our guests with a ula (lei) as a token of our appreciation and gratitude.

In other community news, it will now be easier to arrange school uniform when PSW opens a new store in Craigieburn later this year.  Please see below for further information.
