Year 12 News

It has been an extremely busy time in the Year 12 space, with assessment tasks, excursions and wellbeing events taking place regularly. Some of the highlights include our Pyjama Day and an R U Ok breakfast organised by our Year 12 VCE-VM students.

The year has gone extremely quickly, and Year 12 students are now approaching their end-of-year and exam period. All students undertaking their external examinations have been given an exam timetable and should have carefully noted when and where these are occurring. If there are any clashes or concerns regarding the timetable, students should speak with Mr Sayers as soon as possible.

Burnout is a very real risk at this time of year, so students are advised to ensure they are keeping hydrated, nourished and rested. Three tips for successfully revising over the school holidays are:

1. Organise your time.

Sometimes the most effective steps are also the simplest. You may find some simple hacks will set you up well and make studying a lot easier. Timetable dedicated studying blocks into your planner to ensure that it occurs.

2. Space out your studying.

One of the most effective ways of studying is to carve space out between sessions. If you break up your study load over several days, you will retain information far more readily than if you crammed it into your head during one long session.

3. Set up a space for studying.

It is important to have a designated study area that is free from distraction and will allow you to study effectively. When you settle into your study area, you will know you are there to learn. This shift in mindset will help with your overall motivation to study.

Remember that your teachers are here to support you but may not be able to respond to emails over the holidays. Have patience and speak with them when Term 4 starts.

Enjoy your break!
