Junior Showcase

The Junior Performing Arts Showcase was a vibrant celebration of the talent, creativity and dedication of our junior students across Music, Dance and Drama.

The afternoon began with an impressive performance from the 7E Concert Band, who confidently demonstrated the progress they have made after only a short time learning their instruments. Their enthusiasm and developing ensemble skills provided a positive and energetic start to the showcase.

Our Dance Extension students then took to the stage with engaging performances that highlighted expressive movement, teamwork and strong performance quality.

A special thank you to our Year 12 Dance Leaders, Laura, Sienna and Tessa, whose commitment to leading lunchtime rehearsals and choreographing the routines made these performances possible.

Drama students entertained the audience with a lively improvisation performance, showcasing creativity, quick thinking and excellent collaboration skills.

The Junior Choir brought warmth and energy to the stage through their confident vocals and enthusiastic stage presence, creating an uplifting atmosphere for the audience. Thank you to our talented Senior Choir Leader, Laura, for conducting the choir and supporting the students throughout their performance.

Year 8 Dance Works students performed Beat It with confidence and energy, showcasing strong teamwork, expressive movement and engaging stage presence.

The showcase concluded with an entertaining performance from the Year 8 Concert Band, whose polished musicianship and ensemble skills reflected their hard work and dedication throughout the semester.

A special thank you to our Junior Performing Arts Leaders, Indi, Eilish, Lizzy, Andrew and Olive, for the excellence, leadership and sense of community they brought to the event.

Congratulations to all students and staff involved in the showcase. The afternoon was a wonderful reflection of the passion, creativity and talent within the Junior Performing Arts program. Bravo!

Year 7 Drama

For the past few weeks, our Year 7 Drama students have been hard at work creating their own sock puppets for their ‘Puppetry’ unit!

Students were tasked with designing and creating their own sock puppet, writing a script for a short puppet show and performing to their classmates. The task intends to encourage group collaboration and help students develop expressive skills in performance, such as voice and movement.

Students have been performing their completed puppet shows for feedback after weeks of preparation, we are very proud of what students have achieved!

Vocal Soiree

The Vocal Soirée was a wonderful evening showcasing the incredible talent, dedication and individuality of our student singers.

Students auditioned for the opportunity to perform as soloists and small vocal groups, embracing the challenge of sharing their voices with an audience. A highlight of the evening was the chance to perform with a live band, giving students an authentic performance experience and allowing them to develop their confidence as musicians.

The program featured a diverse selection of songs spanning many decades and genres, creating an entertaining and varied concert that reflected the broad musical interests of our performers. Each performance demonstrated the hard work and commitment of the students involved.

Throughout the rehearsal process, students worked collaboratively, supporting one another while developing their own unique vocal style and sound. Their willingness to take creative risks and express themselves through music was inspiring to see.

The evening concluded with a powerful finale performance of Dreams, bringing all performers together on stage in a celebration of teamwork, musicianship and the joy of singing.

The Vocal Soirée was a memorable event that highlighted the strength of our vocal program and the outstanding talent of our students.

Bravo!
