Term 2 Food Review

Food Studies students have been working diligently throughout the term, refining their practical cooking skills while applying the design process through a range of engaging assessment tasks. These activities have allowed students to develop their creativity, problem-solving abilities and confidence in the kitchen.

Multicultural Munching Year 9

Our Year 9 Multicultural Munching students undertook a design challenge that required them to research a country, develop a fusion-style burger inspired by their chosen culture and then produce their final product within a 100-minute practical session.

The results were outstanding, with many innovative and delicious burger creations brought to life.

Year 8 MasterChef

Our Year 8 MasterChef students have focused on developing and refining their practical food preparation skills throughout the semester. Last week, they put these skills to the test in a Sweet Mystery Box Challenge, where they were required to think creatively and work collaboratively under time constraints. We were incredibly impressed by the quality and presentation of their creations.

Food Studies Year 7

Year 7 Food Studies students explored the design and production of a loaded baked potato. After researching the origins of baked potatoes and investigating suitable ingredient combinations, students developed their own designs before recreating them in the kitchen. They then conducted sensory evaluations of their products. The task was a great success, with students producing a range of creative and highly appealing dishes.
