Harmony Day

On March 25th the SIRC ran its first event for the year, Harmony Day, raising funds for the Khalili Foundation who enable peacebuilding through art, culture and education. This year the theme was "Everyone Belongs" which highlights cultural diversity, inclusion, and respect, reminding Australians that fostering a sense of belonging is essential for building strong, safe and connected communities. Our SIRC planned and ran activities including a cultural dress theme and competition, sausage sizzle, bracelet making and mapping your ancestry. The Japanese Department also joined in on the celebration with calligraphy. Thank you to all those who supported the event through donations, participation in activities and cultural dress. We can’t wait to see you at our next event!
