Principal's Message

Welcome back to Term 2. I hope all families enjoyed a restful and safe break, and that children are feeling refreshed and ready for a busy and exciting term ahead.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the parents, children, and staff who attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service on Saturday. Your presence showed great respect and appreciation for those who have served our country, and it was wonderful to see our school community represented so thoughtfully at this important event.
Last week, staff attended professional learning with neuroscientist Dr Jared Cooney Horvath, which was truly incredible. His ability to translate neuroscience into practical strategies to enhance classroom instruction was both accessible and highly influential. This new learning will support our school in continuing to strengthen teaching practices and improve student learning outcomes.

Next week, I will be attending the Dyslexia SPELD Foundation Conference alongside two other members of the Executive Leadership Team. This conference provides a valuable opportunity for educators and practitioners to engage with the latest research and evidence-informed strategies in language development, student wellbeing, and the teaching of literacy and numeracy. We look forward to bringing back insights and practices that will further support our children’s learning.
Please note that our next pupil-free day will be held on Friday, June 5, which will be dedicated to report writing. Additionally, Monday, June 8 is a public holiday for the King’s Birthday, so there will be no school on that day.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Nadia Bettio
