Contemporary Art in Conversation

Contemporary Art in Conversation
Year 11 Visual Arts students at Cecil Hills High School had the privilege of welcoming acclaimed contemporary artist Khaled Sabsabi to speak about his professional art practice. A Lebanese-born Australian artist based in Sydney, Sabsabi is internationally recognised for his innovative video installations and has exhibited in both the Biennale of Sydney and the Venice Biennale. During the session, he shared valuable insights into contemporary artmaking, digital media, and the creative processes involved in developing a successful Body of Work. Students also enjoyed an engaging Q&A, gaining a deeper understanding of his conceptual ideas and artistic practice.
We sincerely thank Khaled Sabsabi for generously sharing his time, inspiring our students, and strengthening connections between contemporary artists and our school community.
