Volleyball School Cup – Return to the Podium

Volleyball School Cup – Return to the Podium

The volleyball community at our school continues to flourish, with an increasing amount of students embracing the game and demonstrating their commitment, passion and love for the sport of volleyball. A walk past the outdoor volleyball courts at lunchtime is often filled with the sight of spirited competition and the sounds of friendly banter and laughter. However, behind these playful scrimmages are competitors and athletes who have devoted hours to training, both within and beyond the school grounds, continually striving to improve their skills, knowledge and athleticism.

This term, their efforts were rewarded as our teams achieved an amazing result at the Term 2 School Cup competition organised by Volleyball NSW. Our Year 8 boys team delivered an impressive performance, reaching the semi-finals in only their second School Cup appearance and demonstrating enormous potential for the future. Our Year 11 boys fought hard through a series of intense matches, earning a well-deserved silver medal in Division 2. Special recognition must also go to our Year 9 boys team, who remained undefeated throughout the entire competition, not dropping a single set that day and rightfully claiming a Division 2 gold medal.

These results represent a significant milestone for our volleyball program, marking a return to the podium after years of competition without a medal. This achievement is not only a testament to their skill and teamwork, but also to their unwavering resilience and commitment to continuous improvement.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated coaches who committed their time, passion and tireless efforts to ensuring the success of our teams. Congratulations to all our players on an outstanding term and best of luck as our teams move onto the next stage of competition.
