Inclusive Sport NSW School Sports Unit: Building Skills, Confidence and Team Spirit
Our Inclusive Education students have continued to embrace sporting opportunities throughout the semester, demonstrating teamwork, perseverance and a willingness to challenge themselves.
In June, four students — Anthony, Reese, Davin and Aiden B — represented Cecil Hills High School at the Boccia Tournament, run by the NSW School Sport Unit. Accompanied by Mr Swiggan, our students competed against other schools in NSW and proudly represented our school with great sportsmanship and determination.
While the team didn’t make it into the finals this year after an exciting finals appearance last year, the students showed fantastic effort, commitment and teamwork throughout the competition. We are already looking forward to seeing what 2027 brings — could it be Cecil’s year?
Our sporting journey continues, with the Ten Pin Bowling Competition coming up in August. Mr Brookfield will be taking Aiden A, Aiden B, Anthony and Reese to compete and put into action the skills they have been developing during our weekly Ten Pin Bowling program for school sport.
These opportunities provide our students with more than just competition — they build confidence, independence, social connections and a strong sense of achievement.
Best of luck to our Ten Pin Bowling team — we are cheering you on!
Mrs Kelly Ford, Head Teacher Inclusive Education
