High Potential and Gifted and Talented Mathematics Championships

High Potential and Gifted and Talented Mathematics Championships
We were thrilled to host 30 exceptional young mathematicians from our four feeder primary schools for our first High Potential Mathematics Championships. It was an afternoon filled with rich problem-solving, collaboration, and enthusiasm for mathematics.
Students were placed into mixed-school teams of four and challenged with a series of complex tasks spanning a range of mathematical concepts. It was great to see students working together to crack problems, share strategies, and support one another.
A big thank you to our Maths faculty, led by Tom Cordin, for their vision and planning. Special thanks also to Mr Lee, Miss Gianni, Mr Nguyen our SASS team led by Antida Russo for their support leading up to the event, and to our Year 9 accelerated maths students who were amazing mentors on the day.
Every student received a certificate of achievement, with prizes awarded to students and most importantly, everyone left with a smile.
We are excited to welcome these high-potential students to Cecil Hills in future years and continue to foster their growth in mathematics. Well done to all involved in making this event such a success!
