In the kitchen, students have been developing technical cooking skills as part of the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program (SAKG). They have practised carefully dicing onions, learned the gentle technique of poaching fruit, and mastered the process of crumbing. Eggplant parmigiana proved to be an unexpected favourite, winning over even some hesitant tasters! This week also featured poached peaches picked straight from the tree outside the kitchen — served with a small scoop of ice cream that certainly didn’t go to waste.

With more settled weather returning, it has been a pleasure to spend time back in the garden. Students have been preparing beds and planting seeds, showing care and optimism for the harvests to come.
