Year 5/6

Our Year 5/6 students have continued to embrace every opportunity that has come their way, showing our school values of Learning, Positivity and Safety in all that they do.
We were fortunate to take part in a special incursion with Indigenous artist Scott Darlow. Students were highly engaged as they listened, reflected and participated in meaningful discussions and activities. It was a valuable experience that supported our understanding of culture, identity and respect.
Some of our Year 6 students also had the exciting opportunity to write and record a school song. They demonstrated wonderful creativity and teamwork throughout the process, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts and leadership.
We also participated in two virtual incursions. During the ‘Inform and Empower’ session, students deepened their understanding of cyber safety and discussed practical strategies to stay safe and responsible online. In ‘Cartooning for Change’, students explored political cartoons and the powerful messages they can communicate. They created a cartoon highlighting the issue of litter in the ocean and will use this knowledge to design another cartoon this week.
To celebrate our ‘Start Right’ for 2026, our Year 6 students planned and ran a fantastic afternoon of whole school activities. They showed impressive organisation, leadership and enthusiasm, creating a positive and inclusive experience for all students.
