A Year 12 Geography Adventure

On Friday, 31 July, the Year 12 Geography boys enjoyed a beautiful sunny day as they headed into Perth for an adventurous fieldwork excursion.

The day began with an ‘Amazing Race’-style activity designed to support their studies of urban geography and Perth’s structure. Working in teams, the boys spent three hours exploring different zones across the city, investigating the function of each area, gathering information and taking photographs to support their research.

The excursion concluded with a visit to Kings Park, where students completed a sketch map of the Perth skyline, surrounding waterways and nearby hills. This activity provided an excellent opportunity to apply their geographical skills while taking in one of the city’s most iconic views.

Overall, it was a fantastic day of learning, collaboration and fun, allowing students to engage with key curriculum concepts in a real-world setting. We extend our sincere thanks to Ms Hodgson and Ms Greay for their support and assistance throughout the day, which helped make the excursion such a success.
