We're a great mix in Level 6!
Welcome to Term 2 of Level 6! We have had such a wonderful start to the term. Level 6 are full of enthusiasm as we dive into rehearsals for our production ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean.’ It is going to be a fun and busy term.
Cross Country was such a wonderful day. Level 6 showed teamwork and resilience throughout the whole day and supported each other through their 3km run. Thank you to 6SK who stayed for the day to help with the younger students.
In Reading, we have been delving into our literature circle roles of ‘Theme Tracker’ and ‘Author’s Choice Analyst’. These roles are supporting our understanding of what we are reading and helps us to collaborate with one another.
In Writing, we have started persuasive writing. Level 6 are moving away from first person perspective – ‘I think school uniforms are bad because they don’t let you express yourself.’ – to third person – ‘School uniforms should be optional because they limit self-expression.’ This ensures that our persuasive writing is strong and impactful.
In Maths, we have been learning all about angles. We have learnt how different angles fit together, on a straight line, around a point, and opposite to each other and have used this knowledge to work out missing angles.
We have also started learning about measuring, calculating and comparing elapsed time and interpreting timetables and itineraries.
Our Inquiry topic this term is ‘Money Matters’. We have started the Inquiry unit with learning about entrepreneurship and the common attributes, skills and personal qualities of successful entrepreneurs. We have also created a business plan which we will use in later weeks! Stay tuned!
