Dear Skye Families, 

Music Bingo Night — A Huge Success!

What a night! Last week's Music Bingo event was everything we hoped it would be, a warm, fun and genuinely joyful evening for our parent community. Beyond the laughter and good company, we are thrilled to share that the event raised an incredible $4,579.70 for our school.

A huge thank you to our wonderful PTF for the enormous amount of work they put into making the night such a success. Events like this are a reminder of just how fantastic our school community is, and we are grateful to everyone who came along and showed their support.

100 Days of Foundation!

On Thursday, our Foundation students reached a milestone worth celebrating — 100 Days of School! They arrived dressed in bright, vibrant colours, ready for a day packed with energy, excitement and plenty of fun.

Classrooms came alive with a wonderful range of 100-themed activities throughout the day, including a whole-school parade, a 100 Dice Game, a 100 Number Hunt, crown making and even completing 100 exercises! The cohort also came together to create a collaborative poster titled "100 Reasons We Love School," now proudly on display in the Prep corridor for all to enjoy.

Watching our Foundation students grow over these first 100 days has been an absolute privilege. The confidence, independence and academic progress they have shown since walking through the gates on Day 1 is something we are enormously proud of. It was a joyful day all round, and we have the photos to prove it!

Congratulations to our Foundation students, their teachers and their families on reaching this wonderful milestone.

Do It For Dolly Day — Thursday 20th August

At Skye, we are deeply committed to building a culture of kindness, respect and safety for every student. Do It For Dolly Day falls within Bullying No Way Week, and our broader anti-bullying program where we place the spotlight firmly on bullying prevention through dedicated activities and lessons across the school. It is a wonderful opportunity for our whole community to come together around a shared commitment to kindness and inclusion.

This year, we are proud to join schools across Australia in supporting Do It For Dolly Day, a national day of action dedicated to ending bullying and championing kindness in our communities. Dolly's Dream does vital work providing anti-bullying workshops, mental health resources for families, and a dedicated bullying support line, ensuring that no young person has to face bullying alone.

Here's how to get involved:

• When: Thursday 20th August
• Go Blue: We're asking all students to wear their favourite blue clothing to school to show their support

Book Week — 24–28 August

Skye Champions at the Maths Minds Competition!

We could not be prouder. A huge congratulations to our Year 4 Maths team, Hazel, Charlotte, Ava and Madeline, who took out 1st place at the Maths Minds Competition held at Mentone Girls' Grammar!

Competing against 13 other schools in a day of rigorous mathematical problem-solving and critical thinking, our students not only claimed the top prize but were specifically recognised by the event organisers for their enthusiasm, teamwork and sportsmanship. A remarkable achievement that speaks volumes about the character of these four young mathematicians.
