Careers

Pathways for everyone

On Friday 17th of March, the Year 11 VCE students attended the Victorian Careers Show at the Melbourne Showgrounds. Students were able to speak to a wide range of tertiary education providers, as well as members of Victoria Police and Ambulance Victoria. A highlight this year was the extensive Australian Defence Force display. As well as vehicle, equipment and artillery displays, a large number of serving members of the navy, army and air force were in attendance. Many military personnel had travelled from bases across the country to speak with students about the many specialist roles and career opportunities that exist with the ADF. One interesting role was that of the Avionics Technicians, who detailed their role in maintaining, servicing and repairing state-of-the-art aircraft. It was a great day and a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about career pathways.

Additionally, we would like to congratulate Mia Cianci and Noah Willemsen for being selected as recipients of this year's Yarra Valley VET Cluster scholarships. Mia and Noah are both members of Mr. Swankie's first year VET Building class which runs out of the Trade Training Centre at Healesville High School. Both students received $250 to help fund their passion for construction, whether it be purchasing building materials or tools.
