Students across the junior school have had a fantastic term learning about Geography.

In Year 7 students have been honing their mapping skills, and learning about different types of maps. They had the most fun when completing mud mapping, and we were lucky to get a lovely sunny day for our preparatory walk for this task.

A favourite task for the Year 8 students was Jellybaby geography, a game in which students learned about factors influencing population movements. Ms Hoogie’s class was extra lucky and got to play the game using jelly beans!

Year 9 students finished off the term learning about the shady underbelly of geography, undertaking a research project on dark tourism. They are hoping that a visit to Old Melbourne Gaol is on the cards in the future.

In the senior school our Year 10 History and Geography students have wrapped up their first semester subjects with their first set of exams. They are now looking forward to their new classes once they return from holidays. History, Geography, and Commerce will all be running in the second half of the year, allowing students to prepare for their VCE selections for 2025.
