Year 1 News

It has been another busy and exciting week of learning in the Year 1 spaces!
As readers, we have been exploring the difference between fiction and non-fiction texts. We identified the purpose and features of a non-fiction text, including a contents page, glossary, index, photographs, and diagrams, and have been reading a range of texts. We have been using these features to help us locate information and deepen our understanding of informational texts.
As religious thinkers, we activated our prior knowledge by sharing what we already know about the Holy Spirit and the Sacrament of Confirmation, and recorded our first thinking. We also read the Scripture passage “Acts 2: 1-6- The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost“ and participated in a guided visualisation, where we were encouraged to reflect on the presence of the Holy Spirit and its importance in our lives.
Thank you to all the families and grandparents who joined us for our Grandparents Day Mass and activities in the learning spaces. It was wonderful to celebrate this special occasion together, and we greatly appreciate your support and involvement in our school community.
