Grade 3 Community News

Dear Grade 3 Families,
It is hard to believe we have reached the final week of Term 2. The semester has flown by, and our students should be very proud of the growth, effort, and perseverance they have demonstrated throughout the term. We would like to thank all families for their ongoing support and partnership in your child's learning.
Please note that Semester 1 reports will be available on Compass this week. We encourage families to take the time to celebrate their child's achievements and discuss their learning goals for the remainder of the year.
English
Text-Level Reading
Our study of The Arrival by Shaun Tan continues this week, with students completing their assessment tasks based on the text. They have done an outstanding job learning about graphic novels and developing their ability to analyse illustrations, infer meaning, and interpret characters' experiences through visual texts. It has been wonderful to see the thoughtful discussions and insights students have shared throughout this unit.
Mathematics
In Mathematics, students continue to strengthen a range of skills through our daily review sessions, revisiting important concepts and strategies taught throughout the year. Our new learning has focused on converting improper fractions into mixed numbers. Students have been developing their understanding of fractions and applying this knowledge to solve a variety of mathematical problems with increasing confidence.
