Mabo House News
Welcome to 2024!
Hello Mabo students, families and friends,
Over the first week we have welcomed our new Year 7 students to our community- this is an exciting time as you embark on a new chapter of your schooling, and we look forward to being part of it. It's completely normal to feel a mix of emotions – excitement, nervousness, curiosity – but remember, you're not alone. Every student around you is experiencing similar feelings, and our staff is here to support you every step of the way.
During these first few weeks you'll have the chance to explore your new surroundings, meet your teachers and classmates, and start to get a feel for the rhythm of high school life. Take advantage of this time to familiarise yourself with your timetable, find your classrooms, and get involved in any extracurricular activities or clubs that interest you.
As you settle in, keep an open mind and be willing to try new things. High school is a time of growth and self-discovery, and it's okay to make mistakes along the way. Embrace the challenges, ask questions, and don't be afraid to seek help when you need it.
Above all, remember to be kind to yourself and others. High school is not just about your studies; it's also about forming connections, building friendships, and creating lasting memories. So, take a deep breath, smile, and enjoy this exciting new beginning!
As a House Team, Mabo has welcomed many new students across all other year levels, and it has been great meeting you all-we're committed to providing you with an enriching and supportive learning environment and look forward to celebrating your success.
To those students entering your final years at the College, make sure you get involved in all aspects of the school, both within and outside the classroom, while you make lifelong memories!
To all Mabo students, as you step into our classroom, remember that each day is an opportunity to grow, learn, and discover new things about yourself and the world around you. Our dedicated teachers and staff are here to guide and inspire you along the way.
Embrace the challenges, celebrate your successes, and never hesitate to ask for help when you need it. Together, we can achieve great things.
Here's to a fantastic school year filled with learning, laughter, and endless possibilities. Let's make it one to remember!
