Next Tuesday 13th February, we will gather for our first whole school assembly.  At this special event, as a whole college, we will welcome everyone to the 2024 school year, a year that is filled with endless opportunities and possibilities for learning.

We have invited, distinguished guests including some of our high achieving students from the graduating class of 2023, so that they are able to provide tips to their success while inspiring current students that anything is possible, if you are prepared to consistently focus and apply yourself.

During our special assembly, I will remind everyone of the wonder senior school results achieved last year.

Last year are college achieved its best senior results ever!  Last year we achieved 97% satisfactory completion rate with an average ATAR of 68. Three remarkable students achieved an ATAR of 90 or above, with our VCE DUX leading the way with an impressive score of 96. Moreover, an outstanding 32% of our VCE cohort achieved an 80 ATAR. The success stories of our students continue as we proudly share the exciting news that all three students with an ATAR of 90 or above have secured offers for their first preference at university. Jessica, Isabelle, and Raymond are pursuing their dreams. Jessica has accepted an offer to study in Biomedicine from Monash University, Isabelle has received an offer and scholarship to study at University of Melbourne and Raymond received an offer to study a double degree in Biomedicine and Commerce at Monash University.

It's essential to recognise that success takes on various forms for different students. Our VM/VPC students have also demonstrated exceptional performance, as a result of their hard work.  A special mention goes to Lina Umaga, our Dux for the VCE Vocational Major.

These accomplishments are a testament not only to the hard work and perseverance of our students but also to the unwavering support provided by our dedicated team of teachers and support staff. A heartfelt thank you also goes out to the families who have been pillars of support on this journey.

As someone who has dedicated over 35 years to supporting students in their learning journey, I can affirm that each and every one of you at Hampton Park Secondary College is capable of achieving success. The journey to success begins early, with the learning that takes place in the junior levels laying the foundation for accomplishments in senior school. It's crucial to dispel the notion that your efforts in the early years don't matter – every positive learning attitude, every skill acquired, paves the way for success.

Thanks to the flexibility and dedication of our hard-working staff and to the co-operation of our students the start to the school year has been smooth despite the slight delay in gaining access to our new learning spaces. As of Monday morning, students and staff are now enjoying the new teaching and learning spaces of science and the Wellness Centre. The spaces look great and will support the exciting learning opportunities here at Hampton Park.  Over the next few weeks, additional new furniture will arrive to compliment the new science classrooms. I wish to thank our hard-working Maintenance, IT teams and Administration Teams lead by our Business Manager, for their hard work during the break to support our smooth start to the year.

Over the holiday period, additional facility improvements have occurred at our college. Resurfacing of our gymnasium floor, the relocation of two portable to provide additional recreational space for students, the application of synthetic grass alongside Walton House has significantly improved area that is prone to high levels of foot traffic.

Other plan this year is to make some adjustments to the rear fence, the fence that borders the oval. Much of this land belongs to our college, following discussion with the City of Casey we plan to provide additional space for student within our fence line. The earth works to the oval view mound is in preparation of the fence relocation. I expect this work to be completed within the first part of the school year.

Thank you for your support of our college. With your wonderful support, we can continually improve our college to become a school of first choice for local families.
