SAFER INTERNET DAY
Safer Internet Day is a global initiative that brings together communities, families, schools, and organisations from more than 160 countries to help create safer online spaces.
The eSafety Commissioner leads the initiative in Australia educating people about online safety risks, like online abuse, how to be safe online and where to go for help. As we know online safety education and awareness is more important than ever.
This Safer Internet Day, Tuesday 6 February 2024, we’re encouraging you to take three simple actions when approaching online safety: Connect. Reflect. Protect.
• Connect safely by keeping apps and devices secure and reviewing your privacy settings regularly.
•Reflect on how your actions online may affect others or your safety.
• Protect yourself and others by visiting www.esafety.gov.au/ to find out how to stay safe online and report online abuse.
Why Safer Internet Day is important
We use the internet in almost every aspect of our lives, so it’s important for everyone to know about online safety.
The Office of eSafety has some really useful short videos and easy-to-read advice sheets will give parents and carers the confidence to talk with your children about online safety.
They include tips to help them stay safe, and important information about what to do if something bad does happen online.

HEALTH POP UPS
The nurses Prue & Kaye arrange Health Pop Up’s each term focusing on various themes – SunSmart, hydration, healthy eating, mental health, sexual health, drugs & alcohol, safe partying. We are planning a Health Pop in a few weeks and will advertise to students closer to the event. We encourage the students to pop in!
The Health Pop Up initiative was conceived to focus on targeting key areas of health need amongst the student population. Age-appropriate health information is put on display and giveaways and handouts are available along with activities appropriate to the theme.
