TECHNOLOGIES

Technologies at MSC: A Dynamic Start to the Term
It has been a fantastic start to the year across the Technologies domain, with students engaging in hands-on learning, creativity, and real-world problem solving.
Digital Technologies
Our Year 9 VEX Robotics elective is in full swing, with students building, testing, and refining their VEX IQ robots as they develop their understanding of systems, automation, and teamwork. Year 7 students have begun exploring robotics through Edison robots, building foundational coding and problem-solving skills. In Game Design, students have completed their first learning task, creating interactive text-based adventure games and showcasing their creativity in storytelling and logic.
Design Technologies
Our senior students have begun their Illumination Project, applying the design process to create innovative lighting solutions. Meanwhile, Year 8 and 9 students have been developing their design skills through custom workbook stickers and are now launching into a campaign project focused on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, combining creativity with social impact.
Food Technology
Students have been busy in the kitchen creating a range of exciting dishes while exploring food truck design concepts, burger production tasks, and Fairtrade principles. A highlight this term was a collaborative session with the Languages department, where students participated in an experiential Japanese cooking program, deepening both their cultural understanding and practical skills.
We are incredibly proud of the way students have embraced challenge, creativity, and collaboration throughout the term, and we look forward to building on this momentum in Term 2.
