RUGBY ACADEMY

Our Rugby Academy has made an outstanding start this term, with students showing strong commitment to developing their skills, understanding of the game and overall approach to training.

The program is already building confidence and leadership, with players encouraged to contribute ideas and take ownership of sessions, creating a more player-driven environment. With a talented group of students and a clear vision for growth, we are excited about what this academy can achieve.

A key focus of the academy is developing well-rounded students. We are actively using our core values of respect, teamwork, and work ethic to drive positive engagement and success in the classroom, recognising that what students achieve academically is just as important as their performance on the field.

The U16 boys achieved a positive result in their pre-season 10s match against Mernda, showing promising progress while acknowledging there is still more to build on. We now look forward to next term as our U15 boys and girls begin their season, continuing to grow the program and opportunities for all students.

Our girls also enjoyed a highly successful day at the Academy Movement Girls Day. They benefited from being coached by a range of different coaches, built connections with students from other schools, and had the opportunity to test their skills against other academies. Most importantly, they embraced the experience with enthusiasm, growing in confidence while developing their understanding of Rugby Union in a fun and supportive environment.

In addition, our Year 10 students have now commenced their Certificate II in Sports Coaching, further strengthening the academy’s commitment to providing valuable pathways and learning opportunities for our students.

We are pleased with the strong foundation established this term and look forward to the opportunities ahead in Term 2 and beyond. With the positive habits and commitment already shown, we are excited to see our students continue to grow, challenge themselves, and represent the academy with confidence both on and off the field.
