LANGUAGES

As part of our languages program, students have been actively engaging in both Spanish and Japanese through meaningful and culturally rich learning experiences.
Japanese
In Year 9 Japanese, students took part in a hands-on culinary workshop as part of their Daily Routine unit, preparing and enjoying zaru soba, a traditional Japanese cold noodle dish. Through this experience, students applied their language skills in an authentic context while exploring the cultural significance of food and daily life in Japan.
Spanish
In Spanish, Years 7–9 students completed a Common Assessment Task (CAT) focused on exchanging personal information through short conversations with a partner. Students developed their speaking and listening skills while building confidence in pronunciation, fluency, and social interaction.
It has been wonderful to see students building confidence in their communication skills while deepening their understanding of different cultures. We are proud of the enthusiasm and effort shown across both languages this term.
