Welcoming Year 7 Students

The Mickleham Secondary College community extends a warm welcome to our Year 7 2026 cohort and their families. We are delighted to have you as part of our school and look forward to working in partnership to support each student throughout their secondary school journey.

As we move through the first term of the year, I would like to acknowledge how proud we are of our Year 7 students and the way they have approached their transition into secondary school. This is an exciting milestone, and our students have demonstrated enthusiasm, resilience and a strong willingness to engage in new experiences.

Students have quickly adapted to new routines, navigated the school environment with increasing confidence and begun to establish positive relationships with both peers and staff. It has been incredible to see our students demonstrate respect, care and the support they are showing one another, alongside their growing confidence in the classroom. These early foundations are key to a successful and positive year ahead.

A highlight of the term has been our recent incursion, where students participated in a range of team-building activities. This experience provided valuable opportunities for students to collaborate, communicate effectively and challenge themselves in a supportive environment. It was encouraging to see students working together, stepping into leadership roles and contributing positively to their teams. Most importantly, the incursion supported students to come together as a cohort, strengthening connections and fostering a strong sense of belonging within our Year 7 community.

I would also like to extend my congratulations to Simran Grewal and Noah Masters on their appointment as our 2026 Year 7 Student Leaders. This is a significant achievement, and both students have demonstrated the qualities of responsibility, initiative and integrity. We are confident they will represent their peers with pride and make valuable contributions to the school community throughout the year.

As a school, we remain committed to supporting our Year 7 students as they continue to build confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging. We value the important partnership between home and school and thank our families for their ongoing support.

We look forward to a rewarding and successful year ahead.
