WELLBEING

It has been an exciting start to the year, and we would like to highlight the positive things happening across the school and the great way students have engaged in support programs this term.
This term, we have had a focus on small group wellbeing programs, including the Year 9 Change Makers Program and the Year 8 Resilience Programs. These programs have focused on building confidence, resilience, positive decision-making, and helping students feel connected and supported at school. Next term we will continue with these programs and also work in partnership with Raise Mentoring for our Year 8 students and Let’s Talk Respect Program for our Year 10 students.
Brainstorm Productions attended in February to give a performance to our Year 8 students. This performance “Verbal Combat” provides students with strategies for resilience, bullying prevention and help-seeking. The students then used this performance for their drama studies.
This term we also commenced our Glitter Group, which is a voluntary safe and inclusive space for LGBTIQA+ young people and allies to connect, share experiences and find support.
We are proud of the way students have engaged in the wellbeing opportunities this term and look forward to continuing this work in Term 2.
