PRINCIPAL'S WELCOME

As Term 1 draws to a close, there has been a tremendous amount happening across the college, with plenty to celebrate and acknowledge within our school community.
A key highlight has been the successful completion of our Parent/Guardian/Teacher/Student Conferences. These conversations are an invaluable opportunity to strengthen partnerships between home and school, and we thank all staff for their commitment to supporting student progress and engagement.
Our NAPLAN program has also been a major focus throughout the past few weeks. Following a smooth practice session, our Year 7 and 9 students approached the official testing period with confidence, completing Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy assessments. We extend our sincere thanks to all staff involved in coordinating and delivering the program so effectively. Thanks to Rose Elcheikh our Principal of the Junior School for her coordination of this event.
There have been a number of enriching opportunities for students beyond the classroom. Selected Year 10 students attended the Careers and Employment Expo in Melbourne, gaining valuable insight into future pathways Additionally, guest presenters and programs such as Curious Careers and Morrisby Profiling have supported students in exploring their strengths and future opportunities.
Our community spirit has been on full display through events such as Harmony Day, where students proudly celebrated cultural diversity. We also acknowledge important cultural and religious events observed within our community, including Ramadan and Easter. We thank everyone for their respect and inclusivity during these significant occasions.
A number of staff-led initiatives have also stood out. We recognise the outstanding work of staff supporting programs such as Wakakirri, the Koorie Big Day Out, and the wide range of extracurricular and enrichment activities that continue to enhance student engagement and wellbeing.
As we approach the final days of term, a reminder that classes will conclude early at 2:30pm on the last day. We wish all members of our community a safe and restful break and look forward to another successful term ahead.
