Middle School Update

The second half of this term was filled with incursions, activities and community engagement for our Middle School students. Highlights include:

Talent Show

Middle School was very excited to celebrate its three finalists in the recent school Talent Show. Congratulations to solo artist Will K on the guitar, dancers Roxanne W and Fiona N and band groups Traffic Lights and the Backdrifters. 

Well done to everyone who participated in the Talent Show — we are always so impressed with the talents of our students.

Police Incursion

Our Middle School students were visited by our local community outreach police worker, who spoke about a range of topics that impact our young people, particularly around online behaviour, as well as drugs, alcohol and driving.

Elephant Ed

Recently, our Middle School students were visited by Elephant Ed. They were provided with essential knowledge around consent. Students found this workshop engaging and informative.

Year 10 Highlights

Fundraising

In Week 8, our Year 10 Momentum students ran fundraising stalls at lunchtime. Students created a wide range of baked goods and crafts, with all proceeds going to the very worthy cause of the RSPCA.

Volunteering

In Week 9, our Year 10 Momentum students participated in a volunteering program, attending a wide range of community facilities including a retirement home, a local primary school, tree planting, baking goods for the Salvation Army, helping out in a women's shelter, restoring local parklands, and cleaning up rubbish. Students found this day extremely rewarding - it was certainly a highlight for them to help out in their community. 

Movie Night

To cap off the term, Year 10 students will enjoy a fun-filled movie night tonight. A fantastic opportunity for the cohort to relax, socialise, and strengthen their relationships.

Year 9 Events

Term 4 – School for Student Leadership

This term, four Year 9 students were selected to participate in the School for Student Leadership in Term 4. Students were selected for this program through a rigorous interview and selection process, and we cannot wait to hear an update on their experience and everything they learnt during their term away in rural Victoria.

Year 9 City Camp

We are looking forward to the other half of the cohort attending our new Citizenship Camp in November next term! 

Home Groups F to Z will be completing this camp, which aligns with their Geography subject. Students will be exploring the features of our city and various aspects of citizenship.

We are proud of our Year 9 and 10 students for their active participation and enthusiasm throughout these events. We look forward to more exciting activities and learning opportunities in the coming term.
