Term 3 Sports Update 

Overall, we'd like to acknowledge the sportsmanship, teamwork, and school spirit that define the students of Box Hill High School. Players across all sports disciplines supported one another throughout competitions, built stronger connections as a team, and  represented  the school community with pride and respect.  We are very proud of you!

State Intermediate Lacrosse

In a BHHS first, we recently had three teams compete at the Schools Sport Vic State Lacrosse Championships - a fantastic day of learning, teamwork and plenty of fun!

For most students, it was their first time playing Lacrosse, making their efforts and enthusiasm all the more impressive. 

We were thrilled to finish the day with the Spirit of Sport Award, for bringing unwavering energy and enjoyment through the day.

Boys

The Intermediate Boys Lacrosse team performed well with passion and heart. In our first game we fought hard to come to a 3-1 loss, playing with excellent defence and teamwork. However, in the next game it was just as close, losing 2-0 to Melbourne High. It hit us hard as we came short of winning in the next few games. The last game against Gladstone Park was a nail biter, losing 4-3. We had fun and developed great teamwork among the team. 

Our MVPs were Daniel C and Thomas T due to their outstanding passes and defensive stops.​

Girls

Box Hill High Schools Intermediate Girls Lacrosse team had a fantastic state tournament, winning 5 out of 8 games played with our team of six players. Despite having a a rocky start with two losses the girls showed great teamwork, determination and resilience throughout every game, greatly improving each time they played. The team competed strongly against several tough schools and finished third in their pool, sadly narrowly missing out on the finals. Overall, it was such a fun day and an excellent effort from the team, everyone should be proud of their commitment and performance.​
