Grade 4 News

Welcome Back to Term 4!

We hope everyone enjoyed a relaxing and fun-filled school holiday break! It has been wonderful to welcome the students back and see them settling quickly into routines and engaging positively with their learning.

Our class novel, His Name Was Walter, has sparked curiosity and discussion as we explore the story together. Alongside our novel study, students are developing their narrative writing skills, focusing on creating engaging stories with interesting characters, settings and events.

In Maths, we are currently exploring data through investigations, learning to collect, organise, represent and interpret data to answer questions and draw conclusions. Next week, we will move on to multiplication and division, developing our understanding of strategies to solve a range of problems.

Our Religion focus is on forgiveness and how we can model the teachings of Jesus in our everyday lives. Students are reflecting on the importance of showing kindness, understanding and compassion towards others.

Students are investigating climate and weather during Science, exploring weather patterns and the factors that influence the conditions we experience.

Our topic for Humanities this term is The Age of Explorers. We will explore the motivations behind early exploration, learn about significant explorers and navigators, and investigate how voyages of discovery changed people's understanding of the world.

Please remember to bring a hat and drink bottle each day. Sunscreen is available in all classrooms to help students stay sun-safe during outdoor activities.

Grade 4 will be celebrating a liturgy next Friday in Week 3 at 2:45 pm. Families are warmly invited to join us for this special occasion.

We look forward to another wonderful term of learning, growth and working together as a team!
