Foundation News

We have had a fantastic start to our final term of Foundation. The students have returned enthusiastic and ready to learn, and it was fantastic to begin our swimming program yesterday.
Term 4 promises to be a busy and exciting one, with a range of classroom learning experiences, celebrations and transition opportunities planned to support students as they prepare for Year 1. We look forward to sharing more information about these events throughout the term.
In Literacy, students have been revising previously taught sounds and tricky words as well as being introduced to two new digraphs; /wh/ as in whale and /th/ as in thumb.
In Maths, we have enjoyed exploring data by asking questions, collecting information using tally marks, and representing our findings through pictographs and bar graphs. Students have also been developing their skills in interpreting and discussing data.
In Religion, we have started a new unit of work, 'We are Special.' As part of this unit students will identify that every person is created and loved by God and recognise ways Christians show God's love through kindness, welcome and care for others, and describe simple ways they can share God's love in everyday life.
Reminders:
- Please check that all clothing, lunch boxes and drink bottles are clearly named. As well as all swimming items.
- Hats are required during Term 4. Students without a hat will be asked to play in the shaded area near the art room during recess and lunchtime.
