Grade 3 News

We hope everyone had a relaxing break and is feeling refreshed for the final term of the year. Term 4 is always a busy and exciting time filled with learning, growth, and opportunities to celebrate achievements. We look forward to seeing all our students continue to work hard, have fun, and finish the year on a positive note. Let's make it a fantastic term together!
We have recently started reading The One and Only Ivan and students are enjoying learning about Ivan and the other animals in the story. As we read, we are discussing the characters, setting, and themes, while making predictions and connections to deepen our understanding. We look forward to continuing this engaging novel throughout the term.
In Maths, we are exploring data investigation and learning different ways to collect, record, and represent information. Students are examining various types of graphs, including picture graphs, bar graphs, and column graphs, and are developing their skills in gathering data through surveys and observations.
In Religion, we are learning about how Jesus modelled forgiveness through his words and actions. Students are exploring parables from the Bible and discussing how forgiveness can be shown in everyday life. We are making connections between Jesus’ example and our own relationships, helping students develop empathy, understanding, and positive ways to resolve conflicts.
In Science, our focus is on gases and the important role they play in our world. Students are learning about different types of gases, their properties, and where they can be found in the world around us. Through investigations and discussions, we are exploring how gases are used, how they affect our environment, and why they are essential for living things.
