Prayer for First Reconciliation
Loving God,
As a school community, we pray for our children who are preparing to celebrate their First Reconciliation this Wednesday evening.
We thank you for each of them and for the unique gifts you have given them. As they come to know your mercy and forgiveness, help them to trust in your loving presence and to always remember that they are our beloved children.
Bless them with courage to speak honestly, hearts that are open to your grace, and the joy that comes from being forgiven and made new. May this special sacrament help them grow in kindness, compassion, and love for others.
Guide their families, teachers, and parish community as we walk beside them on their faith journey. May we all be examples of forgiveness, understanding, and care.
We ask this through Jesus Christ, who teaches us about God's endless love and mercy.
Amen.
Dear Parents,
Welcome to week two of term four
Sacrament of Reconciliation.
Last Friday three of our children from grade three received the sacrament of Baptism. They were joined by family members, God Parents and their classmates as Father Nathan baptised them. On Wednesday evening these children, along with other grade three children, will receive the sacrament of Reconciliation, the sacrament of healing through forgiveness. During this week the children will join other classes in the school as prayer buddies each morning, a special time for classes to pray for these sacramental children.
Farewell to Monsignor Cris
Our parish is farewelling Monsignor Cris as he heads back to the Philippines in November. A special Thanksgiving Mass followed by a luncheon will be held at Our Lady's Church on Saturday 31st October. Everyone is invited to attend and show their gratitude for Mons. Cris's ministry here in our school and parish. Please see the flier for more information in the Catholic Identity page of the Newsletter.
Playing after school.
Many younger children play on the junior school play equipment after school with their parents supervising. This is a lovely way for families to connect. Please ensure that the children stay within sight of the parents and if any child comes to play without their parent being there, please send them to the drop off zone. Children are not to play on the senior playground equipment. We will remind children in their classrooms that they can only play on the equipment if their parent is there. Thank you for your support with keeping all of our children safe.
Grade Five and Six Camps.
Our senior students attended their camps last week. Both camps were a huge success. Our staff complemented the manner in which our students participated in all the outdoor adventure activities as well as the way they conducted themselves in general. The children had a fabulous time, and our staff could not praise the children enough.
Regional Athletics
Last Friday many of our athletes participated in the Zone Athletics with several of our students progressing to the Regional Athletics to be held this Friday in Albury. We congratulate all the students who competed in the Zone Athletics and wish those children heading to Regionals all the best. Mr Nolan is always impressed with the manner in which our students conduct themselves at these events and this year they looked particularly impressive wearing their new school representative tops!
Swimming
Our swimming lessons have begun for the Foundation students with the other classes also preparing for their swimming lessons. These are an important part of our PE curriculum promoting confidence in the water and water safety.
Grade Five and Six Information night
There will be a virtual Puberty Parent and Child session available for the children in grades
5 & 6. Grade 6 on Wednesday 21st October @ 5pm, and grade five on Wednesday 27th October @ 5pm. This is an important opportunity for growth and development with facilitated discussions around puberty for your child. We urge all parents to participate in this with their child. Further details have been shared with you by your child's teacher.
Have a great week everybody
