Earlier this term, 10 students represented Cranbourne Secondary College in the Big Science Competition, a 50-minute online challenge designed to test students’ scientific knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
We congratulate all participants on their efforts and achievements. Competing in a national competition requires commitment, curiosity, and a willingness to challenge yourself, and every student should be proud of their participation.
Special congratulations go to Avni K (Year 9) and Ali N (Year 10), who both achieved a Distinction, placing them in the top 15% of entrants nationwide. This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to their dedication and passion for science.
We are excited to announce that National Science Week will be taking place in mid-August. As always, we look forward to hosting our annual Science Week competition and seeing the creativity and innovation of our students on display.
This year's theme is:
Seeds of Science – Nurturing Knowledge for All
Students will be invited to create a submission inspired by the theme, exploring how science helps ideas grow, supports discovery, and contributes to a better future for everyone.
We encourage all students to start thinking creatively and look forward to celebrating Science Week with our school community.
