College Principal

Dear parents, carers, students and families,

Thank you for your support of our work together during Term 2.

I am particularly grateful for the patience of our students and staff as we navigated the final stages of the building works. Temporary fencing has mostly been removed to reveal outstanding learning spaces with excellent acoustics and filled with natural light. The classroom spaces are also a departure from the previous design and are now more suited to explicit teaching and the optimisation of student attention for learning. The building will serve as a learning hub for Years 7 and 8. It has been wonderful to see our Year 7 students begin to move in and commence learning. The gratitude and respect for the new classrooms shown by these students has been great.

As part of our 50th anniversary celebrations, numerous events for the community will occur where parents will be able to tour the new facilities.

School council news

The 2025 Annual Report has been endorsed by school council. The report is now awaiting Department of Education quality assurance and will then be available via a public meeting in Term 3. The public meeting will be open to any member of the school council. After the meeting, the report will be published on our website. The completion of this process is according to Department of Education policy.

School-funded capital works project

At our last school council meeting, a school-funded capital works project application was also endorsed and has been submitted for review. The capital works application is to move existing portables and demolish older portables. The proposed configuration of the portables will enable the completion of a final year level hub for our students. If successful, these works may occur as soon as Term 3. I will inform the school community of further developments as soon as they come to light.

It is a pleasure to share some highlights from our various teams across the college. I thoroughly enjoyed looking through this newsletter, and I trust you will also.

Thanks again, and I look forward to our continued work together through Term 3.
