Health and Physical Education News!
We continue to be impressed by our students’ enthusiastic commitment to their learning.
The growth in skill level of our students has been quite remarkable.
An emphasis on skill development is really having positive benefits as students now have the skills and knowledge to successfully have fun and participate in a whole variety of sports.
Year 7 and 8 students are beginning to master pickleball, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, tennis, dodge ball and volleyball.
Year 9 students have also mastered these sports and can also organize and play highly energetic netball matches.
Our Year 9 and 10 students continue to use their electives to master outdoor activities, and they also develop advanced skills in coaching their peers. All of this positive practice from our students is also paying off at the interschool sport level.
Mr Smith has done an awesome job of organising our teams and for the first time in over 11 years we have won pennants in interschool sport.
Mr Smith will write more about this in the next newsletter, but we have won 4 pennants in the last 2 weeks.
Another positive in our Domain has been the huge number of students using the gym, oval, fitness centre, and courts for sports’ practice at recess and lunchtime.
Our students are very physically active during the school day, and research suggests that this will also be benefitting their academic studies.
Meanwhile our students in Health classes from all levels continue to develop the knowledge, skill and understandings required to live healthy, balanced lives.
Well done Scoresby Secondary College students, we look forward to you all continuing to participate with your enthusiasm and energy.

Health and Physical Education Leader
