Congratulations to our VCE Students

Congratulations to our VCE Students

The Blackburn High School community congratulates all of our VCE students and especially those who have excelled in their 2023 VCE studies. We are very pleased with the increase in the number of students receiving ATARs of 80+ and 90+ and there was a rise in the number of students achieving study scores of 40 or more.

It is my privilege to announce Angus Collins as the Blackburn High School DUX for 2023. Angus is keen to undertake an engineering pathway and pursue his studies at Monash University. Angus has been an enthusiastic member of the Robotics Program and was recently awarded the Box Hill STEM Leaders Award by our State Member Paul Hamer.

As well, I would like to give a special acknowledgment to the students in the graduating class of 2023 and commend them on their outstanding effort, hard work, academic achievements and recognise their enthusiastic contribution in all aspects of their school life throughout their time at Blackburn High School. It has been a great privilege to see these young people grow and develop skills and confidence that will enable them to realise their aspirations and successfully navigate through the next phase of their lives.

Presentation Awards Ceremony

The Presentation Award Ceremony, held on Friday 15 December to a packed New Hope Auditorium, marked the culmination of a wonderful year of outstanding academic student achievement, effort, endeavour, hard work and student leadership for students in Years 7-12. The Blackburn High School community acknowledged over 140 student award recipients who have shone brightly and exemplified our school motto of growing towards the light and embodied our School Values. We presented Lola Gosden, one of our Year 9 students, with a new award for the 2023 Yearbook cover design.
