Year 12 - VCE

2023 was a busy and rewarding year for students in the Senior School. The opening of the newly renovated Senior School building provided our students with new learning spaces and, for the Year 12s, a new common area. The refurbished learning spaces on Level 1, are light filled and promote collaborative learning. On Level 2, we have been able to run assessments and exams in dedicated spaces, reducing noise and other distractions for students.  Seeing how well students have adapted to the improved conditions and their mature approach to taking care of the VCE Centre has made the staff at Blackburn High School very proud.

The Year 12 students have continued to participate actively in all the cross-curricular activities on offer at Blackburn High School despite the increasing demands of their academic studies.  Seeing the students grow and mature over the past six years has been remarkable. They now go out into the world as adults, ready to take on life’s many challenges with gusto.  I wish them all the best for whatever the future holds, and have confidence that they will achieve great things.

Good luck to all Year 12s who are leaving us, we wish you all the best for the new chapters starting in your lives.

International students

We all said goodbye and good luck to our Year 12 International students.

The students enjoyed a delicious morning tea with Ms Alexander, Ms Zhou and the Multicultural Aides, Huiquin Gan, Sally Tang and Nan Deng.

Alvin Zhang has been at Blackburn High School since Year 7. And now he is graduating with many fond memories. Here he is with Ms Kourelis who is his Mentor teacher and taught him in Year 8 EAL  and Year 10 EAL.
