Knox Division Athletics Results

Health, PE & Sport

A group of 105 Wantirna students travelled to the Ringwood Athletics track on Tuesday 3rd September. Our students were faced with fantastic weather and competition from local schools. Wantirna had strong representation in majority of the events, and they all represented the College positively. Shout-out some of our 2025 Sports Excellence students who volunteered their day to help out with the long jump, triple jump and discus events.

Wantirna was successful in winning the Knox Division based off overall points, we also had the following students win their individual competition:

Keira Ellis: 15Yr Girls Age Group Champion

Coleby Paton: 15Yr Boys Age Group Champion

Scout Semple: 16Yr Girls Age Group Champion

Tayla McMillan: 17 Year Girls Age Group Champion

Another special mention to Holly Makaay who broke the Division Record for the 16 Girls 1500m, running a time of 5:20.00, beating the current record of 5:24.82 held by Amy Richardson since 2006. Holly has had a fantastic year and has broken record after record.

The last special mention goes out to all of the 4 x 100m relay teams. Wantirna won 10 out of 11 relays and each team showed fantastic team comradery to ensure the baton made it safely all the way around.

We now turn our attention to the EMR Athletics Championships, held at the Doncaster Athletics Track on Wednesday 9 October. We will be taking a team of around 55 students to the event.
