Teacher Greenies
The Inclusion, Diversity and Wellbeing Captains, Shay Whiteside, Ash Orpwood, Sienna Reese and Sage Mogyorossy are happy to present a new initiative, Teacher Greenies.
Teacher Greenies are an opportunity for all students to say thank you to their Teachers and ES Staff. The Teaching staff at Wantirna College work exceptionally hard to deliver engaging lessons and create inclusive learning environments for all students. Our Education Support Team, also work diligently to provide additional support for students and help them at their point of need.
To write a Teacher Greenie, students need to:
- Think of a teacher or ES Staff Member who currently works at Wantirna College and has made an impact on you.
- Grab a Teacher Greenies Card from the Teacher Greenies Stations and write down a short message of gratitude.
- Students then fold it up and post it in the boxes available in the following locations:
- Mason House
- Senior Centre
- Pathways Hub
- Wellbeing Centre
Please Note: Students can name themselves or remain anonymous.
Last Wednesday, 11 Sept, we kick-started this initiative. During Period 3, the Inclusion, Diversity and Wellbeing Captains requested all students to write a Greenie to a teacher who has taught them this year. The Captains spent lunchtime and Period 4 sorting them out. All together we collected over 1000 Teachers Greenies and delivered them to staff offices. The large amount of Greenies is a reflection on the amazing work of Wantirna Staff.
Teachers Greenies will be a permanent initiative so look out for those stations in Mason House, Senior Centre, Pathways Hub and Wellbeing. We look forward to seeing more Teacher Greenies in the weeks to come.
