VCE Art Making and Exhibiting Excursion to ACCA
On Thursday the 23rd of July our VCE Students recently enjoyed an inspiring excursion to the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA). Throughout the visit, our students represented the school exceptionally well, demonstrating respect, curiosity, and enthusiasm. They engaged thoughtfully with the exhibition and asked insightful questions of the Education Officer, showing a genuine interest in contemporary art and creative practice. It was a valuable learning experience, and we are proud of the positive way our students conducted themselves during the excursion. This excursion was directly linked to both year 11 and 12 outcomes.
Year 7 Visual Language
Since returning to school, the Art rooms have been a busy and creative space for our Year 7 students. Class 7A has been completing a drawing challenge and has demonstrated exceptional imagination and creativity in their work.
Students have been exploring the element of tone through a variety of drawing activities, developing their skills in shading, blending, and creating depth. It has been wonderful to see their confidence grow as they experiment with different techniques and take on new artistic challenges. We look forward to sharing more of their creative achievements throughout the term.
Year 9 Ceramics
Our Year 9 Ceramics students have been busy developing their hand-building skills this term. They have successfully completed a pinch pot monster or sea creature and a double pinch pot character, showcasing creativity, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Students have explored a range of glazing techniques to enhance the surface and visual appeal of their ceramic pieces. Throughout the project, they have documented and reflected on each stage of the creative process, recording aspects of designing, making, and finishing their ceramic works. We are proud of the imaginative and colourful creations produced and look forward to seeing students continue to build their ceramic skills.
